ElectroGas Malta employees recently turned a team-building event into a meaningful act of solidarity, assembling and donating bicycles to Ukrainian refugee children living in Malta.
Instead of a typical workplace exercise, colleagues worked together on a project with purpose. The result was ten brand-new bikes – “a gift of freedom, joy, and hope for children who have endured major upheaval,” said the company.
ElectroGas Malta CEO Jorge Perez said the initiative reflected the company’s values:

“This isn’t just another team-building activity. Riding a bike offers a sense of freedom. Through this initiative, we are not only strengthening our bonds as a team but also giving these children a symbol of hope – hope for a future where they can move forward freely and confidently.”
Representatives of Ukrainian refugees in Malta also expressed their appreciation to the company, which augmented the donation of the bicycles with food vouchers.
“Your kindness has brought not only practical help but also a deep sense of hope and solidarity. The bicycles will offer children and families new opportunities for mobility, freedom, and joy. The financial support will help us meet essential needs and continue building a stronger, more connected community.
“In times of challenge, your compassion reminds us that we are not alone. Thank you for standing with us, for believing in our resilience, and for helping us move forward – together.”
