PG Group has unveiled plans for a new shopping mall within db Group's redevelopment of the former Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS) site overlooking St George’s Bay, on the border of St Julian’s and Pembroke.
The project, scheduled for completion in 2026, will feature a PAVI-PAMA supermarket as its anchor tenant, alongside a mix of retail outlets, catering establishments, and dedicated parking facilities.
The development is being undertaken through PG subsidiary DB Gauci Shopping Mall Limited (DBG). In November 2024, DBG entered into a preliminary agreement with DB San Gorg Property Limited, under which the land for the project will be granted on sub-emphyteusis, subject to final contract and conditions precedent.
In announcing the project, PG Group noted that the venture aligns with its strategy of expanding its portfolio of retail-centric destinations across Malta, while further strengthening its property asset base. The group is best known for operating PAVI in Qormi and PAMA in Mosta, two of the island’s leading supermarket and shopping complexes, as well as fashion franchises including Zara.
PG Group confirmed that further updates on the project’s progress will be provided as the development moves forward.
