Gürhan Arslan will leave his position as General Manager, Malta at Turkish Airlines following almost seven years in the role. This comes after he was appointed General Manager, Sweden at the airline, he shared on Monday.
“With the new year, a new chapter is starting in my career,” Mr Arslan said.
“I leave behind almost seven years in Malta with experiences that cannot fit into a few paragraphs,” he shared, before thanking his colleagues for their “efforts, dedication, and perseverance”.
“Completing the tasks successfully for an airline operating on a global scale during the pandemic could only have been possible with excellent teamwork,” Mr Arslan explained. He added that the airline wouldn’t have been able to get “through these difficult times without them”.
“We had incredible memories that we will remember in the future. I will always miss you,” he said.
Mr Arslan remarked that since Turkish Airlines’ dialogue with business partners “was always constructive and fruitful”, the team has been able to “overcome many difficulties and successfully returned to our pre-pandemic flight schedule”. He proceeded to thank the travel agencies that the airline works with, along with its business partners, “especially the airport, aviation, and tourism authorities”.
“As an airline that flies the most countries worldwide, we have contributed to stronger relations between Türkiye and Malta. This contribution will continue to increase in the future,” he continued.
“I am hoping to share new experiences from Sweden soon,” Mr Arslan concluded.
Mr Arslan has formed part of Turkish Airlines for over 22 years, having started out as a Clerk at its operations in Ankara, Türkiye. He went on to serve in various other roles across the airline’s operations in Türkiye, Yemen, Tanzania, Burkina Faso, and most recently, Malta.
Founded in 1933 with a fleet of five aircraft, Turkish Airlines has since grown to have a fleet of more than 300 aircraft, flying to over 300 destinations in the world. The airline launched its operations in Malta in 2013.
