Seasoned human resources (HR) professional Beatrice Martin on Monday (today) shared that after eight years in Malta, she will be leaving to return to her home in Malmö, Sweden.

In a social media post, she said that she spent “eight great years” in Malta that have been filled with “countless memories – some good, some great, and some not so good.”

“I’ve had the privilege of meeting amazing people, mainly through my work, and many of them have become friends for life,” Ms Martin continued.

Ms Martin switched Sweden for Malta in May 2016, when she was appointed HR Manager at Betsson Group. She stayed at the iGaming firm for four years, making her way up the corporate ladder to also serve as Senior HR Manager and HR Director.

In July 2020, she was named Chief HR Officer and HR Director at Casumo, a position she held up until August 2023.

Since October 2023, she has been running B HR Consultancy, her own consultancy firm.

“While I won’t list everything I won’t miss, I will certainly miss my friends, the sun, the sea, the cheap beers and cocktails, and those wonderfully big food portions,” Ms Martin remarked.

“Malta has been a place of immense growth for my career, and for that, I will always be grateful,” she affirmed.

Ms Martin said that in two weeks’ time, she will be embarking on her new chapter in Sweden.

“Thank you, Malta, for the unforgettable journey. Here’s to new beginnings in Malmö!” she concluded.

Ms Martin has over 15 years of experience working in HR at senior level. Prior to her time in Malta, she worked in HR-related roles at GameStop and Golv & Kakel B.L AB.

The news of her farewell to Malta was met with bittersweet replies from friends and former colleagues, who wished her well in her new endeavours, but also said that she will be deeply missed.
