The Shoreline Mall in Smart City, Kalkara is opening on Friday (today), welcoming visitors for the first time at 12pm.

It will contain a number of retail outlets and catering establishments, including the likes of Pull&Bear, Stradivarius, Bershka, Franks, Aldo, Kiko Milano, Calliope, Junior’s, Homemate, Intercomp, and Starbucks, among others. Many of these outlets will be flagship stores.

The mall will also feature Gravity, an entertainment spot that includes a trampoline park, arcade games, rock-climbing activities, and a free-fall activity.

The Shoreline Mall’s social media account confirmed that it will be open until 9pm today. However, the regular opening hours will be 10am to 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 10am to 7.30pm on weekdays and Sundays.

The mall, forming part of the wider Shoreline development, has been in the works for the past few years.

Last year, WhosWho.mt had reported that the mall was set to be open by September 2023, before the opening date was then moved to the first few months of 2024. Senior people close to the project later told this newsroom that the mall’s formal grand opening is set for 8th March 2024.

Earlier this week, Shoreline Mall plc, the company behind the development of the mall, announced a pre-tax profit of €3.1 million for the final six months of 2023. Given that the mall was still closed during that period, the pre-tax profit was largely attributed to the sale of its residential carpark spaces.

Located in Smart City, the development will be made up of a retail mall housing around 44 different outlets across two double-height levels, as well as 331 apartments, six villas, and seven blocks. The mall will also contain restaurants, a major entertainment area and various kiosks, together with three levels of underground parking.
