The Phoenicia Malta has announced that Charlo Micallef has been promoted to the position of Banqueting & Events Manager, capping a long career with the elegant hotel that began when he was only 17 years old.

The promotion will see Mr Micallef take on the responsibility of managing meetings, conferences, weddings, and events at the Floriana hotel situated on The Mall, the garden that leads up to Valletta’s historic gate.

The Phoenicia took to Facebook to introduce Mr Micallef to its guests and followers, remarking that he had shown commitment and loyalty to the hotel.

“We asked Charlo some questions to get to know him better,” the post read, revealing Mr Micallef’s love for Dingli Cliffs, his observance of Lent, and his passion for fireworks.

Asked for his favourite memory at The Phoenicia, he recalled the festivities that took place for the millennium back in 2000.

“On behalf of all of us at The Phoenicia Malta, we wish Charlo the best of luck in his new role.”
