Social media and digital marketing specialist Johann Agius shared on Monday the "natural process" that came with making the move to the marketing sphere upon completing his law degree, on the sixth anniversary of doing so.
“As soon as I knew that I was going to obtain my bachelor's degree, I felt a sudden sense of relief,” he said. “Not only was I finally going to graduate from university, but I was also going to be able to breathe and rethink what I actually want to do with my life,” he added.
Mr Agius studied for a Master of Law degree from University of Malta, before switching to a Master in Creativity and Innovation degree in Creativity, Innovation, Foresight and Development.
“Creativity and innovation have always been passions of mine in everything I do. And so, shifting my attention towards the marketing sphere was a natural process that I didn’t even need to plan,” he continued.
“As much as I love being organised and reconsidering every single aspect of my decisions before I take them, I’ve also learnt to appreciate the beauty of taking a chance based wholly on intuition,” Mr Agius said.
He joined Maltese luxury goods and jewellery company Mvintage as Digital Marketing Strategist earlier in July, after temporarily stepping away from the marketing sphere to focus on his role as Executive Administrator at Victim Support Malta.
While he continues to grow as a marketing professional, Mr Agius has kept his other creative outlets “very much alive”, and “couldn’t be happier”.
Apart from his role at Mvintage, Mr Agius is also Junior Chamber International Malta’s (JCI Malta) de Rohan Local President, a role he has been entrusted with since January. Prior to this, he served as Director of Marketing and Public Relations at the organisation.
His extensive marketing experience also includes more than five years at creative and marketing agency BRND WGN Co. Ltd, where he initially started out as a Junior Content Writer. His abilities were immediately recognised, and he was quickly promoted to Content Writer, and afterwards to Social Media Executive. He also served as Public Relations Officer, Deputy CEO, and CEO of student media organisation Insite during his studies.
