Swan Laundry and Dry Cleaning, which falls under the umbrella of Corinthia Group’s majority shareholder CPHCL, has achieved a remarkable financial turnaround this year after a €2m investment in operations and technology.
As Malta’s largest industrial and commercial laundry service provider – expected to process a record seven million kilos of laundry this year alone – Swan Laundry has modernised its infrastructure and significantly enhanced efficiency to cater for the domestic market and meet the rising demands of Malta’s expanding hospitality sector.
The company is also on track to become Malta’s prime fully sustainable laundry operation.
Key initiatives include upgrading equipment to state-of-the-art technology for faster turnaround times, increasing production capacity to handle large volumes with shorter lead times, supporting the carbon footprint goals of its clients by adopting greener energy solutions, and introducing automation to enhance operational efficiency and reduce human error.
CPHCL CEO, Jean-Pierre Schembri, stated: “The strategic investments we have made in Swan Laundry have not only established it as Malta’s largest and most advanced laundry operation but also as a pioneer in sustainable practices.
“Our commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship is driving Swan to become the island’s first truly sustainable laundry operation. By implementing cutting-edge water management systems, energy-efficient technologies, and eco-friendly processes, we are setting a new benchmark for the industry while reducing our environmental footprint.
“This remarkable achievement would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of the entire Swan team, ably led by Anita Mifsud. Their dedication to aligning our services with the evolving demands of the hospitality market, while championing sustainability, has positioned Swan as the trusted partner for Malta’s leading hospitality providers. Together, we are shaping a future where excellence and environmental responsibility go hand in hand.”
Swan boasts the highest turnaround capacity in Malta, enabling it to process large volumes of laundry with speed and efficiency, ensuring that hotels and other clients receive their laundry services promptly, even during peak demand periods.
The company also supports its clients’ sustainability goals by providing detailed carbon footprint summaries upon request which allow hotels to track and optimise their environmental impact, further strengthening Swan’s position as a trusted partner in the hospitality industry.
In the coming year, Swan will embark on a comprehensive digital transformation initiative, which will connect customers and suppliers to a centralised digital system, enabling real-time data sharing, marking another milestone in the company’s journey towards innovation and excellence.
