Maltese physician and academic Professor Stephen Fava has been appointed to the Editorial Board of Cardiovascular Diabetology-Endocrinology Reports, the newly launched companion journal of the highly regarded Cardiovascular Diabetology.
Prof. Fava’s contributions to the field of internal medicine and endocrinology are well recognised, both locally and internationally. He has previously served on the Editorial Board of the European Journal of Internal Medicine and is currently Chairperson of the Editorial Board of the Malta Medical Journal.
Beyond his editorial contributions, Prof. Fava is a respected authority in the fields of diabetes and endocrinology. He has authored or co-authored over 100 publications and serves as an expert to the European Commission on Diabetes Indicators.
In 2022, he was appointed to the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) within the Diabetes Indicators Group.
According to his LinkedIn profile, he is the Head of the Diabetes & Endocrine Centre at Mater Dei Hospital, a role he has held for over 23 years, and serves as the Chairperson of the Department of Medicine at the same institution. Additionally, he is the President of the Association of Physicians of Malta and Chairperson of the Specialist Committee.
