Maltese national Sharon Mizzi on Tuesday announced that she is starting a new position at global video hosting giant TikTok as a Brand Partnerships Manager.

The young marketing specialist first joined the company’s Los Angeles (LA) office in September 2021 as a Sales Coordinator. Between 2019 and now she has held various roles in the town related to marketing and talent management.
Prior to her entry into the LA job market, Ms Mizzi held a marketing position Mizzi Motors Limited in Malta, and has also worked in the press office of Isle of MTV.
First launched in China, TikTok was rolled out to the rest of the world in 2017 by its parent company, ByteDance. According to Nikkei Asia, a global survey of downloads in 2020 showed TikTok on top of the list of social media providers for the first time since the study was first conducted in 2018.
This means the video-sharing platform has taken over Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram as the most downloaded social media app.
