Rachel Gauci announced that she has recently joined the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) as Deputy Head of the Banking Supervision Unit to manage the Policy and Legal Team.
Speaking of this appointment she stated that "it has been a great welcome so far and [that she is] excited to use [her] experience in the industry to support the regulatory efforts of the MFSA." Dr Gauci has been in the legal field since 2009 when she took her first internship as a Legal Trainee.
Since then she has graduated from the University of Malta with a Bachelor, and eventually a Doctor of Laws (LLD) and has pursued her career within the Legal and Financial industry.
Throughout her years in this sector, she has worked at Credorax Bank Ltd for over five years, where she held major roles including that of Legal Counsel. She later moved on to Truevo Payments where she occupied the position of Chief Legal and Compliance Officer until she joined MFSA.
Speaking of her new role, Dr Gauci stated that she looks forward "to growing and strengthening the team and working with stakeholders across the industry."
