Paul Beck, who served as one of the two Directors of Beck Graphics Ltd, has passed away peacefully at his home at 92 years of age.
Many took to social media to express their condolences to the Beck family who fondly remember Paul and his brother Alfred.
William Beck, currently managing the family business and Paul’s nephew, wrote that “the Beck brothers, as they were fondly known, are now together again with their siblings, for eternity.”
A close family friend, Joe Smith, expressed his sadness over Paul’s loss also noting that the brothers are finally together again.
“It was a great honour to know you and to share many discussions with you and Alfred in the cafeteria of Beck Graphics. Rest in peace dear ‘uncle’ Paul,” Mr Smith wrote.
Beck Graphics was established by Robert Beck, Paul’s father, in 1919 as Robert Beck & Co.
In 1926, he entered the family business into a partnership that traded under the name of John Bull Press but was dissolved in 1944.
Upon his death in 1945, Robert Beck was succeeded by Paul and Alfred. Under their leadership, in 1989, the brothers transferred their business from a small establishment in Gzira to a bigger modern graphic art house in San Ġwann.

Later, they changed the name to Beck Graphics Ltd. The brothers had decided to cease printing operations in May 2002 and concentrate specifically on providing a dedicated service to established companies they represented.
Funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish Chuch in Gżira on Thursday 8th August. Instead of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Hospice Malta.
In his post on Facebook, William urged people joining to celebrate Paul's life to wear white, cyan, magenta, or yellow. "Colours that together create black, symbolising the unity of his life's work in printing."
