The Costa Coffee outlet in Balzan is set to be replaced by a new parents-and-children concept café, with Ohana Play Café expected to open in 2026.

According to information shared on the café’s social media pages, the new venue will take over the former Costa Coffee premises on Birbal Street, the road leading to San Anton Gardens. The space is being redeveloped into a community play café, combining a children’s play area with a café environment for parents and caregivers.

The café’s Instagram profile points to a February 2026 opening. In the run-up to the launch, the project’s owner, Tessa, has been sharing updates on renovation works and preparations, documenting the conversion of the former coffee outlet into the new family-oriented concept.
