International Hotel Investments plc, the Corinthia Group trading company, announced that its operating arm, Corinthia Hotels Limited, has signed an agreement with United Development Company (UDC).

UDC, known for being the Qatari master developer of The Pearl in Doha, will manage and operate a luxury Corinthia hotel in its newest flagship real estate development, Gewan Island.

The Corinthia Doha will be built on a site having an area of 13,000m2, and will feature 110 guest rooms, a 1000-person banquet hall, several restaurants and a luxurious spa facility.

The development will also include luxury branded villas, a golf-course and a beach club – all managed by the Corinthia Doha.

The agreement was signed by UDC senior officials Turki bin Mohammed Al-Khater, chairman and Ibrahim Jassim Al-Othman, president and chief Executive officer and member of the Board, according to The Malta Independent.

International Hotel Investments plc CEO Simon Naudi, together with Paul Pisani, Corinthia Hotels Senior Vice-President of Development Paul Pisani and Area Managing Director for the Middle Eat Matthew Dixon signed on behalf of Corinthia Hotels Limited.
