Whilst business should continue to do its best to ensure that both the working environment and the employees are safe and secure, Malta Union of Banking Employees (MUBE) is insisting that in view of the current spike, it might be necessary to revert back to previous strict preventative measures prior to returning to the new norm.
In addition, all working arrangements connected with these measures are to be put back in place with focus on front liners and vulnerable people, the MUBE said.
MUBE said the union has also requested the Malta Bankers’ Association consider taking a common approach for the sake of protecting the employees and the customers.
“Helping and supporting each other will reduce any potential spike of the virus and we can do this by taking all necessary precautions to enable us to overcome the pandemic.”
Remote working should once again become the order of the day while for those who might not be able to work from home, MUBE said it expects the working environment to have preventative measures in place, in line with the Health Authority’s directives, such as social distancing and mandatory hygienic arrangements.
MUBE recommends that unnecessary travel should be avoided.
