MeDirect Bank (Malta) plc has announced the appointment of Giancarlo Redaelli as Compliance Officer and Head of Regulatory Compliance and Financial Crime Compliance, succeeding Caroline Grech, who will be leaving the Bank on 9th March 2026.

The appointment will take effect from 10th March 2026, subject to regulatory approval.

According to the company announcement, Mr Redaelli brings more than 25 years of senior leadership experience across banking, asset management and digital finance. During his career, he has held roles including Chief Compliance Officer, Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), and Chief Financial Officer, overseeing regulatory engagement and governance frameworks across the European Union and North America.

The announcement noted that he has been approved by several supervisory authorities, including the Malta Financial Services Authority, France’s Autorité des marchés financiers, the Central Bank of Ireland, and the Ontario Securities Commission. He has also held Compliance and MLRO responsibilities under the Luxembourg CSSF and the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

MeDirect described Mr Redaelli as being recognised for his strong judgement and board-level perspective, highlighting his ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical solutions that support sustainable business growth while safeguarding customers and financial stability.
