On Monday, McDonald’s Malta shared the news that it will temporarily close its restaurant in Sliema.
Announcing the news on social media, the fast-food franchise stated that the team is working “enthusiastically” to give a fresh new look to its restaurant.
Despite so, no date was given as to when the restaurant will be re-opening after its makeover.
This is the first time since 1996 that McDonalds will not be operating in busy Sliema.
In 1996, McDonalds opened its doors to the public at the Plaza Shopping Centre and closed in 2015. In the meantime, the franchise opened its new flagship store at Tigné seafront in 2013.
Now, aside from Sliema, McDonald's has restaurants all over Malta and Gozo, including Buġibba, St Julian's, Bay Street, Għargħur, Birkirkara, the Malta International Airport, Valletta, and Gozo.
“We can’t wait to welcome you back to our restaurant. Stay tuned.”
