Matthew Vella has been appointed Permanent Secretary at the Ministry for Senior Citizens and Active Ageing and the Ministry for Inclusion and Social Wellbeing, a Government press release announced on Friday.

From 2018, Mr Vella served as Chief Executive Officer of the Social Care Standards Authority. Before that, from 2015, he served as a Director of Corporate Services in the Ministry for the Economy, Investment and Small Businesses.

Mr Vella received the appointment of Permanent Secretary from the President of Malta, George Vella. The appointment will be effective from today, Friday, 4th of December 2020.
