Seasoned Maltese media officer Mark Muscat coordinated the post-match press conference following Thursday’s 1-1 draw between Denmark and England at UEFA Euro 2024.

Mr Muscat, who works as Venue Media Manager at European football governing body UEFA, was tasked with leading the conference with England National Team Manager Gareth Southgate.

The game, held at the Frankfurt Arena, finished in a draw after Harry Kane’s goal was cancelled out by an equaliser from Denmark’s Morten Hjulmand.

Mr Muscat has worked at UEFA, whether on a full-time or freelance basis, for the past 15 years. During that time, he has worked closely with a number of teams playing in both the UEFA Champions League and Europa League, and was also Media Manager for the Women’s Champions League Final in the 2015-16 season.

His experience also includes stints as Media Officer at FIFA for the 2021 Arab Cup, the 2015 U-20 World Cup, and the 2014 World Cup, among other competitions.

Throughout his career, Mr Muscat has also worked in public relations and media-related roles at MeDirect Bank Malta, the St John’s Co-Cathedral Foundation, and Melita plc.

He was also one of the founding members of the South End Core, the fan club of Malta’s national teams, and is presently also an Executive Member of the Malta Sports Journalists Association.
