Mandali Jewellery, a well-known name in Malta’s artisan jewellery scene, has announced the closure of its physical store after 18 years of business.
The jewellery designers and owners, Mandi and Alisdair, revealed the news in an Instagram post, confirming that the brand will now operate exclusively online.
The decision marks a significant change for the business, which has been crafting unique handmade jewellery in Malta for many years.
“We have had to take a huge decision to close our store down! But fear not, we will still be working online and shipping worldwide,” the post read.
The physical store in Sliema has been a destination for walk-in customers seeking custom and handcrafted pieces.
Mandali Jewellery specialises in creating bespoke designs.
Mandi focuses on intricate wirework, incorporating semi-precious stones, natural beads, and materials like sterling silver, copper, and gold to create pendants, bracelets, earrings, and rings.
Alisdair, on the other hand, brings expertise in silver work, employing techniques such as hammering, soldering, and forging to produce striking, one-of-a-kind designs.
The shift to online-only operations reflects a broader trend in retail as businesses adapt to changes in consumer behaviour. “Time for a change and flow with the current ways of shopping!” the Instagram post continued, signalling the brand’s readiness to embrace e-commerce.
