On Tuesday (today), MaltaPost plc warned the public about scam Facebook pages and websites impersonating the company.

The impersonating Facebook page, under the name of ‘MaltaP0st’ shared a picture with hundreds of seemingly unopened parcels, priced at the low price of €1.

Scammers, whose eye for detail is always consistent, even edited the MaltaPost logo on the signs seen in the picture.

The postal service company highlighted that it is not clearing any postal warehouses or selling lost parcels at giveaway prices, unlike posts depicted by the scammers.

With hopes of enticing potential victims, the scammers shared that they will be doing a massive sale due to overcrowded warehouses, “so it has to clear [them out] by the end of the month.”

MaltaPost urged the public to report any suspicious links, pages or messages of any type related to postal services.

Furthermore, it highlighted that official MaltaPost news and updates should only be followed from their page and website.

Similar warnings have been issued by Malta International Airport, which were also targeted by these scams.
