Carlo Borg Bonaci, Maltese Broadcaster, TV and Radio host with one of the most recognisable voices in the country, is bidding farewell to PBS’s Magic Malta.

Sharing the news on his Facebook page on Monday (today), Mr Borg Bonaci remarked that at one point or another, he “knew this moment would come.”

“Next Friday will be the last time I step into the studio at Magic Malta and end a 13-year long journey full of memories, experiences, situations and special moments that I shared with you and vice-versa,” he wrote, addressing his listeners.

Reacting to the news, many listeners were upset by the announcement but thanked him for his years in the radio business and wished him luck for future endeavours.

“Let’s enjoy this week together,” he wrote.

Mr Borg Bonaci’s career started at Radju Malta. This was followed by ventures at XFM 100.2 and Radio_101.

In 2011, he took over Magic Malta’s Breakfast show, a role he held for the past 13 years, while also coordinating PBS’ three radio stations.

Nonetheless, throughout his career he also hosted a number of game shows, quizzes, art and culture programmes and hosted music awards, award ceremonies, and the Malta Eurovision Song Contest.
