Smart Technologies, in partnership with Oracle Hospitality, will host the Hospitality Tech Summit 2026 at Trident Park on Thursday 22nd October.

Under the theme "Shaping What Comes Next", the Summit will bring together hotel owners, General Managers, commercial and finance leaders, F&B managers and IT professionals alongside some of the leading names in hospitality technology for a day of ideas, insight, discussion and networking.

The summit has been created with a simple ambition: to bring Malta's hospitality community together to look at the opportunities technology can create for the industry and what the future of hospitality could look like.

For Smart Technologies, the event is about more than technology.

It is about creating a platform for the industry to share ideas, hear different perspectives, build connections and have conversations that can continue long after the event itself.

"Hospitality is an incredibly important part of Malta's economy and we are fortunate to work closely with so many people across the sector," says John Montanaro, Chief Revenue Officer at Smart Technologies.

"We wanted to create something that gives something back to the industry. A day where hotel leaders can step away from the day-to-day, hear from some of the leading people in hospitality and technology, exchange ideas and look at what comes next.

"We have brought together a really strong group of people and organisations, and I think there will be some very interesting conversations."

The calibre of the Summit is reflected in its speakers and partners.

The keynote will be delivered by Robert Mondorf, Principal Strategy and Product Lead, Oracle Hospitality, with senior voices from Malta's hospitality and tourism industry also joining the programme. Technology companies taking part include Ruckus, Uniguest, MyStay, Philips, Melita, Planet and Busy Rooms.

The summit will look at some of the major opportunities shaping the future of hospitality, from the evolution of the guest experience and connected hotel technology to data, commercial performance and the changing role of technology across the industry.

But delegates will not simply be listening to presentations.

The programme has been designed to encourage conversation and participation, with opportunities to hear directly from industry leaders, engage with technology experts and connect with peers. The event will take place in one room, allowing the entire audience to share the same conversations rather than choosing between parallel sessions.

"We want people to leave with ideas," Mr Montanaro says.

"Maybe it is something they can implement in their hotel. Maybe it is a new way of looking at the guest journey. Maybe it is a conversation they want to continue.

"If we can create those connections and give people something genuinely useful from the day, then we have achieved what we set out to do."

For Smart Technologies, which has worked with Malta's hospitality industry for many years, the summit is also the beginning of a longer-term commitment.

The ambition is for the Hospitality Tech Summit to become an annual meeting point for Malta's hospitality community, creating a space where the industry can come together each year to explore new ideas, technology and opportunities.

"We don't want this to be a one-off event," Mr Montanaro adds. "We want to build something that the hospitality industry sees as its own and looks forward to every year."

Hotel owners, General Managers, commercial, finance and F&B leaders, and IT professionals in hospitality are encouraged to attend.
