The Maltese national airline has suspended its daily flights to Milan and Ryanair’s subsidiary, Malta Air, has stopped flying from and to Bergamo and Treviso.

Air Malta said the Milan service was suspended until further notice due to the situation in Northern Italy because of the Coronavirus Covid-19 outbreak following the lockdown decree issued by the Italian Government.

“The safety of our passengers, crew and staff, and the concerns raised by the people of Malta is our first priority”, the national air carrier said in a statement.

Malta Air’s decision was announced by Tourism Minister Julia Farrugia Portelli. The flights to Bergamo and Treviso are suspended until further notice.
