The Maltese theatre community is mourning the loss of longtime Malta Amateur Dramatic Club (MADC) member Nella Meadows.

“All at MADC will miss her dearly,” the club said in a statement.

Ms Meadows was described as not only a longstanding member of the management committee, but also “the heart of our wardrobe department for well over 40 years”, having played a central role in bringing countless productions to life through her work behind the scenes.

The club praised her “unparalleled skill” and significant contribution to Maltese theatre, while extending sincere condolences to her family.

Her passing comes just over a year after the death of her husband, Alan Meadows, another highly respected figure within the club and the local theatre scene.

At the time of his passing, MADC had described Mr Meadows as a “selfless and loyal member” whose contributions spanned several important roles within the organisation. He was especially remembered for his performances as the Dame in pantomimes and for his time serving as Chairman of the club.

When she’s not writing articles at work or poetry at home, you’ll find her taking long walks in the countryside, pumping iron at the gym, caring for her farm animals, or spending quality time with family and friends. In short, she’s always on the go, drawing inspiration from the little things around her, and constantly striving to make the ordinary extraordinary.
