Clyde Bantick has joined hospitality brand Blu Clay Collection as Group General Manager. While he was appointed in December, he made the announcement on Friday.
Blu Clay Collection is a new hospitality brand that was founded late last year, and forms part of the Agius Group of Companies. It launched with the opening of Terrazzo Restaurant & Beach Bar in Xlendi, Gozo, and over the course of 2023, it plans to open three new dining experiences. It states that it plans to become a “leading hospitality collection” in the Maltese Islands, offering an “unparalleled experience” that combines “exceptional service, outstanding culinary experiences, and luxurious accommodations”.
Speaking to WhosWho.mt, hospitality industry professional Mr Bantick describes himself as having a wide array of experience “leading and motivating dynamic teams”, to the point that has seen him “rise steadily through the ranks” at other companies.
He joins after more than a year as General Manager at Montekristo Estate. Prior to that, he worked at Radisson Blu Resort Malta for more than five years, initially joining as Assistant Conference & Banqueting Manager, before he then worked his way up to Bars Manager and then Food and Beverage Operations Manager. Additionally, he has experiences at Café del Mar Malta, Cheeky Monkey Gastropub, as well as Barcode Logistics.
Commenting on the brand’s prospects for the future, Mr Bantick said that it has “ambitious plans” to continue growing its hospitality portfolio, with a “number of hotels set to open in both Malta and Gozo in the coming years", and he is "looking forward to this new challenge".
