After an eight-year stay in the city, experienced Recruitment Manager Kym Abbot has traded Dubai for Malta, arriving over the weekend to take up his position as Betsson’s Head of Talent Acquisition.

Announcing the news on social media at the end of last week, he reminisced on his time in the United Arab Emirates, working for GEMS Education, where he “had the privilege of working with some truly inspirational leaders and colleagues”.

Looking forward to his incoming role at Betsson, he said: “I am excited to start excited to start a new role… with the amazing team at Betsson Group”.

The Malta role marks the end of what was originally intended to be an adventure lasting “just a year or two”, which ended up spanning “a little longer than planned”, seeing Mr Abbott leave with a “beautiful family, life long friends and many cherished memories”.

An industry veteran, Mr Abbott brings over a decade’s worth of experience, taken over a decade of success in Recruitment leadership, stakeholder management and multi-site, shared service international business.

At GEMS Education he was responsible for designing and leading the implementation of a global recruitment strategy, helping facilitate the hiring of more than 10,000 new colleagues since 2013.
