Kurt Sant, an experienced economist with a background in fiscal policy and economic research, has departed from the Central Bank of Malta to take up a role at Malta’s Permanent Representation to the European Union.

Mr Sant first joined the Central Bank of Malta in 2018 as an intern economist, marking the beginning of a career immersed in economic analysis and research.

A year later, he transitioned into a full-time role as an economist, where he spent over three years contributing to the bank’s Economic and Research Department. According to his LinkedIn profile, his responsibilities included gathering, analysing, and presenting data related to government finance, assisting in economic forecasting, and composing various monthly, quarterly, and annual publications.

His expertise and contributions to the department saw him rise to the position of Senior Economist, a role he held for two years and five months before his recent move.

Before embarking on his journey at the Central Bank of Malta, Mr Sant was an economics tutor at GF Abela Junior College.

He graduated with a degree in Economics from the University of Malta in 2019, before pursuing a Master’s degree in Economics from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
