Konnekt, a leading recruitment agency in Malta, has announced the acquisition of VacancyCentre.com’s intellectual property (IP), a recruitment agency operated by CSB Group.

When contacted by this newsroom, Expedition42 – Konnekt’s parent company – and CSB Group stated that this acquisition was done with the aim of enhancing Konnekt.com’s market presence and service offerings, while also allowing CSB Group to focus on driving growth within its service areas of specialisation.

Founded in 1999, VacancyCentre.com is one of Malta’s first online recruitment agencies. It has established itself as an active player in sectors such as finance, technology, compliance, and operations.

“This acquisition aligns with the strategic visions of both parent companies,” the joint statement read. CSB Group is a corporate service provider in Malta. Through this acquisition, Expedition42 aims to strengthen its position in the HR tech and services sector.

IP constitutes intangible creations of the mind, such as inventions, literary and artistic works, designs, symbols, names and images.

The firms did not clarify whether the VacancyCentre brand will remain in use for the foreseeable future.

They also did not provide any details as to how the two brands and their databases will be integrated, nor did they divulge the cost of the transaction.

However, when accessing VacancyCentre.com, users are notified that it has terminated its recruitment services, before redirecting them to Konnekt’s website. This suggests that the brand will no longer be in use.

CSB Group CEO Michael J. Zammit expressed his confidence in Konnekt’s capabilities: “We are certain that Konnekt will do an excellent job at curating the thousands of candidates and clients we have serviced since 1999.”

“Their expertise and dedication to quality make them the ideal stewards for the future of VacancyCentre’s clients and candidates,” he continued.

Josef Said, CEO at Expedition42, acknowledged that the company aims to continue VacancyCentre’s ethos towards its clients and candidates.

“We are honoured to curate the hard work put into VacancyCentre and are committed to delivering a high level of service to both clients and candidates,” he remarked.

“This acquisition represents a significant step in our mission to provide comprehensive HR solutions,” he added.
