Malta is preparing for a day of athleticism, camaraderie and philanthropy with the Playing for H.O.P.E charity event, scheduled for Sunday 21st April 2024, at the De La Salle Sports Complex. This unique 10-hour football and futsal marathon will present an exciting blend of sportsmanship and community spirit, all in support of a worthy cause. Plus, it’s ideal for companies who want to help make a difference by feeding people in need.

From 8am to 6pm, the De La Salle Sports Complex will host teams on its three outdoor pitches and one indoor futsal pitch. The event aims to raise €5,000 for the Foodbank Lifeline Foundation, providing essential assistance to those in need across Malta and Gozo.

Izola

Jointly organized by Ta’ Xbiex Sports Club and Izola Bank, with support from De La Salle College, this event showcases the power of collaboration in addressing societal challenges. Izola Bank, a long-time supporter of the Foodbank Lifeline Foundation, has strived to be instrumental in the fight against food insecurity in Malta. This event is another testament to its commitment to making a positive impact in the community. Abrazo will also be there on the day, so guests and players can purchase a tasty drink or snack to keep themselves fuelled.

Participation is open to all, from corporate teams seeking team-building opportunities to groups of friends looking for a meaningful day out. With a participation fee of €50 per team, per hour and a €20 deposit to secure a spot, players can join forces to support a vital cause while enjoying a day of friendly competition. All proceeds will go directly to the foodbank.

As teams take to the field, they aren't just playing for goals—they're playing for H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Eat). Each goal scored contributes to alleviating hunger and providing essential support for families facing food insecurity. The event's mission is clear: to make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals and communities in need.

Sub-sponsorship opportunities are available. Those interested should reach out as soon as possible to book their slot.

The Playing for H.O.P.E charity event represents more than just a sporting competition; it's a symbol of unity and compassion. It embodies the spirit of giving back and underscores the importance of community engagement in tackling pressing social issues.
