EPG Financial Services Limited has announced that Karol Gabarretta has been appointed Non-Executive Director within its Board of Directors, subject to regulatory approval.

He joins Chairman Michael Kramer, Dirk Quermann, Rupert Kainzbauer, Roberto Migliozzi and Oliver Krückemeier in the composition of the Board.

Mr Gabarretta remarked that he is looking forward to contributing to the EPG Board, as well as supporting the “continued development and launch of payment and e-wallet services”, making sure that these are done with a compliance-first mindset.

He has significant experience in financial services, currently serving as Secretary General of the Malta Bankers’ Association, as well as Member of the Malta Financial Services Advisory Committee, Governor on the Board of Governors at FinanceMalta and also Member of the Board of Management of the Depositor and Investor Compensation Schemes.

In the past he was also a Member of the Supervisory Board of the Single Supervisory Mechanism, and Director for Banking Supervision at the Malta Financial Services Authority.

Founded in 2015, EPG Financial Services Limited Malta is a subsidiary of Euro Payment Group GmbH in Frankfurt, Germany.

The services EPG offers include the execution of direct debits, payment transactions and credit transfers, as well as the issuing and acquiring of payment instruments, among others.
