Seasoned hospitality sector professional Karl Schranz has joined Malta-based hotel operator Corinthia Group as General Manager, he shared on Sunday.
Mr Schranz has previously worked at Corinthia, having served in a number of roles over a nine-year period, ranging from Sales Executive to Director of Sales, namely at its St George’s Bay and Marina Hotel Corinthia Beach Resort hotels. While he was Director of Sales, he was primarily responsible for business travel for the two hotels, managing the corporate budgets of both properties, and also compiling yearly strategy plans for the sales department, among other tasks.
Prior to his return to Corinthia, he worked as Franchise Owner at real estate company Ben Estates Commercial and as General Manager at FCM Travel Solutions Malta, for four years and six-and-a-half years respectively.
Mr Schranz holds a Bachelor of Arts in Tourism from University of Malta and is a Certified Digital Marketing Professional from ICE Malta. He describes himself as an “expert in account management”, having the ability to “support and assist a sales team with account organisation, client development, new business sourcing and revenue growth”. Through his “drive and desire for self-education and development”, he constantly strives for “new ways to support the success of the business”, while still ensuring an “exceptional” guest experience.
Owned by hotel and real estate developer and operator International Hotel Investments plc, Corinthia Group currently operates 24 hotels in three continents, 15 of which are – or are in the process of becoming – Corinthia brand hotels. Since its earliest days, Corinthia has strived for “targets that sceptics would say were beyond reach”, and this “courage and determination to go for better standards” remains the company’s driving force.
