Tumas Investments plc on Friday announced that Joseph Schembri has been appointed independent Non-Executive Director. He has also joined the company's audit committee.
He replaces Kevin Catania, who resigned from the position and as Member of its audit committee.
Mr Schembri is also a Consultant at accountancy and business advisory firm Baker Tilly Malta, and is a Certified Public Accountant and Auditor.
Throughout his career, he has gained extensive experience in accounting, having served as Audit Partner at Joseph Tabone & Co and Senior Partner at KPMG Malta for around 40 years. He was also a Board Member at KPMG’s regional practice specialising in financial services. Additionally, he was actively involved in the setting up of a KPMG member firm in Libya, acting as Risk Management Principal along with Audit Principal for foreign owned oil and gas clients operating in Libya.
Aside from this, he is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants and the Malta Institute of Accountants.
