Jetho Ltd plans to acquire Portelli Weighing Systems (PWS), one of the businesses owned by I.V. Portelli & Sons Limited.

The planned acquisition was announced earlier this month by the Office for Competition within the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority. A final decision by the MCCAA on whether the acquisition can go ahead hasn't been announced yet.

Jetho Ltd operates as a supplier and service provider to the manufacturing industry, specialising in production lines and processes.

It also provides services such as the supply, installation, maintenance, and repair of various industrial and packaging systems.

It is the majority shareholder of Universal Industrial Expertise Ltd, and Alistair Buttigieg Vella is CEO of both companies.

PWS is a supplier of counterfeit detection machines, food processing machinery, weighing scales and wrapping machines, retail scale printers and related materials.

It also provides service and repairs on the products sold, as well as calibrating and adjustment services on weighing scales purchased from PWS or third party suppliers.

Interested third parties were given seven days to submit their written objections on this acquisition.
