James Zammit, Co-founder and CEO of Roark, recently announced on LinkedIn that his startup, Roark, has been accepted into Y Combinator’s Winter 2025 batch (YC W25).
This marks a significant milestone for the Maltese entrepreneur and his co-founder, Daniel Gauci Mizzi, as they embark on a journey to revolutionise AI-driven voice interactions.
Y Combinator (YC) is one of the world’s leading startup accelerators, renowned for launching global giants like Airbnb, Reddit, and DoorDash.
Being part of YC provides startups with mentorship, networking opportunities, and access to a vast network of successful founders and advisors.
“YC has been a dream for both of us – working alongside some of the best founders and advisors in the world while dedicating ourselves fully to building something meaningful,” Mr Zammit shared in his announcement.

As part of YC’s Winter 2025 batch, Mr Zammit and Mr Gauci Mizzi will spend the next few months in San Francisco working alongside other startups to refine their product and expand their market reach.
Mr Zammit's announcement also highlighted his gratitude towards Gustaf Alströmer and the YC team for their guidance and support.
