For Victor Chetcuti, Managing Director at Complete Supplies Ltd, being the largest provider of office goods on the island is not the most important part of his strategy. His goals go far beyond.

“I am constantly trying to instil a sense of humility and dedication in my colleagues, which is key to providing an excellent service. It is not about being the biggest supplier of office goods, but making sure you retain your clients in the long run,” says Victor as he reflects on his company’s achievements.

Complete Supplies Ltd offers a 360-degree service to anyone seeking to furnish a new office, from the simplest articles of stationery such as paper, pens and staples – to more elaborate items such as laminator machines, seating, and ad hoc rubber stamps which are created in house. Having acquired previous competing player Sidonia Enterprises as of April of this year, Complete Supplies now commands a considerable portion of the office supplies market locally and is responsible for gearing up many offices in Malta and Gozo.

“We have a long list of clients in all sectors, from traditional professionals to 5-star hotels, major banks, insurance companies, gaming, and any other corporate player you can imagine. We engage predominantly directly with other businesses, in a B2B fashion, and offer a specialised service that goes beyond selling them goods. This is a central theme to our vision, and I believe it is what keeps us at the top of our game.”

Complete Supplies is celebrating 30 years of operating in the field of office supplies this year, bringing vast experience through its 20 employees in various units of the company.

“Personally, I have worked in this sector for some 29 years, and since taking over the company five years ago, I have strived to continue building on the experience of our team members. Through the years we have built a considerable portfolio of brands that goes far and wide in the world of office supplies. In fact, we can offer quite a range of products that are guaranteed to suit anyone’s expectations no matter the price-point. From functional, no fuss products to the more executive and refined articles that may be required to satisfy the more demanding customer,” Victor explains.

Furthermore, Complete Supplies also provides design and digital printing services to its customers.

“At Complete Supplies we pride ourselves in guaranteeing availability of stock at any given time. This naturally comes with a great deal of planning as well as a substantial investment, however we believe that it goes a long way. Our clients appreciate that we can provide them with the goods they would require within a relatively short delivery window.”

Victor knows that closing the deal is only the start of a relationship that needs to be nurtured and invested in. “When a customer calls us to seek assistance about a faulty piece of equipment, all they want to hear is how we can help them in the least time possible. That is why we make sure to collect that equipment in less than 24 hours from complaint. If we see that the issue may be more complicated, it is not uncommon that we even opt to provide a replacement, to ensure that our clients are up and running again. Then we take it up ourselves with our suppliers abroad at a second instance. This philosophy goes hand in hand with a special emphasis on competitiveness, making sure that our pricing remains in line with local market standards.”

Recently, Complete Supplies has also sought to diversify its operation, as it has started venturing into the clothing market, bringing ‘American Socks’, to Malta for the first time. “We recently launched a website dedicated to this new product, which forms part of our strategy for diversification for the company,” Victor announces.

Back to the core business of the mother company, Complete Supplies makes a special effort to ease transactions as much as possible, operating numerous channels of contact to ensure that they are available at any time, not to mention their dedicated web-shop as well as their social media channels.

“Eventually it would be detrimental for us to outgrow our capabilities, that is why we are vigilant to keep on investing in our teams and structures along with our planned growth-path. It is simple mathematics really – and we take it very seriously,” Victor notes.

Complete Supplies has represented leading office supplies brands in Malta for many years, and for Victor this is an extremely valuable seal of approval.

“Clients who have been with us for the past decade give us the sense of satisfaction that we are on the right track,” Victor asserts, “But we also enjoy the same level of dedication and retention with our teams, some of whom have been with us for upwards of 12 years. Probably it’s our openness and an effort to maintain a sense of family that is reflected in our values, which ultimately benefits the end-customer,” Victor concludes.
