Dozens of meals, prepared by chefs employed by some of Malta’s leading iGaming companies, are, from this morning, being delivered to health workers on the front line of the coronavirus crisis.

ComeOn Group, CatenaMedia and L&L Europe have come together and instructed their cooks, who are usually responsible for feeding hundreds of employees, cumulatively, to fix up lunches for 65 nurses, doctors, and other staff working at Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Directorate, responsible for testing patients for COVID-19. With many of these companies’ workers operating from home, these chefs have seen the work on their plate lessen, freeing them up to offer services to the wider community.

“When we heard that we could be of help to health workers here in Malta there was no hesitation from our side,” ComeOn Group People Experience Manager, Melis Sezer, said. “We cannot even imagine what they are going through and how their life looks like right now. All we want is for these people to feel like real heroes. Small tokens like this go far and, hopefully, we will be able to make these people feel just how appreciated they are.”

And, this will be repeated every day, from Monday to Friday, with the food being delivered, according to Gerda Kacileviciute, Events Manager at iGaming idol, who is coordinating the initiative with HR Connect, an association of senior human resources decision makers operating within the gaming sector.

The action puts into practice comments made by iGen CEO, Enrico Bradamante, yesterday, who said that “as an industry, we have a big responsibility here in Malta”, during the crisis, also going on to underline that “it’s very important that we continue to be committed to Malta and that we continue to contribute to Malta,” he said.
