Valletta’s Strait Street has been graced with the reopening of the iconic hot-spot, Tico Tico bar, which had been closed entirely for around six months.
The newly refurbished bar will be serving up a Maltese mezze menu, an impressive wine list and innovative cocktails, celebrated local chef Nicholas Diacono shared with WhosWho.mt.
The idea is for Tico Tico to serve up sharing plates, similar to how people dine in Barcelona.
Mr Diacono had shared that he would be taking over the establishment’s kitchen last September, with the highly anticipated reopening met with praise and support on online forums.
During his initial announcement, Mr Diacono said he would be bringing the restaurant “back to life”, with the added bonus that the refurbished establishment will also provide a boost to that specific section of Strait Street, located behind St George’s Square.
