The HSBC Malta Foundation has organised a donation drive to mark International Women’s Day, collecting essential items intended for women facing difficult circumstances.

The initiative, now a recurring part of the Foundation’s social impact programme, collected supplies for 23 non-governmental organisations assisting women experiencing domestic violence, mental health challenges, homelessness, and other forms of hardship.

As part of the drive, the HSBC Malta Foundation gathered everyday toiletries including shampoos, body lotions, shower gels, perfumes, toothpaste and deodorants. These items will be distributed to organisations supporting vulnerable women across Malta and Gozo, helping ensure access to basic hygiene products that are often difficult to secure in times of hardship.

The team at Content House – publisher of WhosWho.mt – also contributed to the drive as part of its Women's Day initiative.

The broader campaign brought together HSBC employees, suppliers, and several educational institutions, reflecting a community-wide effort to provide practical support to those in need. Participating schools included St Albert the Great College in Valletta, St Dorothy’s School in Żebbuġ, Ġuże Muscat Azzopardi Primary School in Qormi San Bastjan, The Sacred Heart College, St Theresa School and Kerċem Primary School in Gozo, as well as the Archbishops’ Seminary in Rabat.

Students were actively involved in collecting and organising donations, helping to instil a sense of social responsibility and community awareness among younger generations.

Donations were formally presented during an event held at HSBC’s Head Office in Valletta, where the collected items were prepared for distribution to organisations supporting vulnerable women.

Among the NGOs benefitting from the initiative are RISe Foundation, YMCA Malta, Inspire Foundation, Dar tal-Providenza, Hospice Malta and The Soup Kitchen in Valletta, among others.

The HSBC Malta Foundation said the initiative aims not only to provide practical assistance but also to send a message of solidarity and support to women facing challenging situations.
