Wendy McKay has joined iGaming seed fund and early stage accelerator, HappyHour.io, marking her first departure from the hospitality industry since she started her career.
Taking to social media to share the news, she said: “I couldn’t be more happy to start this new era in my career.”
In comments to WhosWho.mt, she added that while she will be working in a new industry she will still be filling a similar sort of role to previous ones, coordinating events and accommodation for staff, and employee incentives.
Ms McKay also shared that she will be managing HappyHour.io’s new office at The Quad development, when it opens.
To do so, she will bring her extensive experience in the hospitality industry, having worked in the sector for more than 20 years – including most recently as Cluster Director of Corporate Sales at InterContinental Malta.
HappyHour.io is a new iGaming accelerator, providing capital, technology, network and access to its partners, to ensure the companies and products it invests in will have an "outstanding launch and durable future."
It was founded in 2021 and is led by former Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) CEO Robin Reed.
In her social media post, Ms McKay wrote she is beyond thrilled to join the company and thanked the firm’s Head of People and Strategy Emily Micallef for her support during the recruitment process and the warm welcome she gave.
