Hilary Galea-Lauri has been appointed Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee (ARC) for the Council of University of Malta (UM).

Announcing the new appointment on Thursday (today), Mr Galea-Lauri noted that this committee is responsible for offering impartial guidance on management policies, systems, and processes related to values and ethics, risk management, fraud, internal controls, and compliance.

Speaking to WhosWho.mt, Mr Galea-Lauri shared that he feels privileged to have been invited by the council to chair its committee.

“I look forward to collaborating closely with the ARC members to uphold the highest standards and enhance the university's governance for the benefit of its diverse stakeholders, particularly the future leaders among the university’s students,” he said.

Wrapping up his thoughts, Mr Galea Lauri shared that this appointment is particularly meaningful to him, given his “long-standing commitment to education,” including his experience as a lecturer and examiner.
