The app, called Few, allows users to book virtual and in-person classes with more than 50 industry experts in Malta. The services on offer cover a range of fitness, wellbeing, and training sessions, connecting health and fitness professionals, such as yoga practitioners, meditation masters, boxing coaches and others, with their customers.

Few is touted as solving the problems that practitioners often face of how to organize and market themselves, and build a solid customer base.

It does this by providing guidance to practitioners on how to grow their business and serve their clients better, by providing integrated support services, such as scheduling software, payments, and a supportive practitioner community, along with many other aspects of running a business.

The app has had more than 1,600 downloads, has pilot schemes with three corporate clients underway and several of the app’s practitioners feature weekly on the national Maltese television station TVM.

Jamie North, co-founder and CEO of Few who lives in Malta, said the new investment will allow the company to grow its team and ready itself for entering future markets.

He added: “We’re delighted and grateful to receive the Malta Enterprise funding, which will allow us to put into place the plans we have for the Maltese health and fitness market.

“The island is a beautiful place where wellbeing can be practised outdoors easily. Few can offer its users access to top-class wellbeing instruction while supporting its practitioners on their journey to realising their dream of making their passion their profession.”

Malta Enterprise CEO, Kurt Farrugia welcomed the launch of this company as “it highlights the potential of Malta serving as a test base, as well as the potential of the Islands hosting startups. Our aim is to consolidate Malta’s package, in particular, the various schemes and incentives that Malta Enterprise constantly upgrades to ensure that the needs of startups are being attended to”.
