PG Group has reported a strong financial performance for the six months ended 31st October 2025, with turnover rising by 8.4 per cent to €105 million, alongside a profit before tax of €10.1 million, up from €9.3 million in the corresponding period last year.
After taxation, profit for the period climbed to €7.8 million, representing a 13 per cent increase year-on-year.
The Malta-based group that runs the Pavi and Pama shopping malls and supermarkets, said the results reflect the benefits of a more streamlined and coordinated business model adopted during the previous financial year.
PG Group operates some of Malta’s best-known retail brands, including the Zara and Zara Home franchises. Under its integrated approach, the group manages its retail operations as a single platform, aligning management oversight and performance monitoring across brands and locations.
Gross profit for the period increased to €13.7 million, up from €12.6 million in the same period last year. The group also generated €3.8 million in cash from operating activities, while total equity stood at €77.2 million as at 31st October 2025, further strengthening its balance sheet.
Commenting on future prospects, the directors highlighted continued progress on several long-term strategic investment projects. These include the ongoing development of a major shopping mall complex featuring a mix of retail outlets, a new PAVI-PAMA supermarket within db Group's redevelopment of the former Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS), complemented with multiple catering establishments and a dedicated car park for customers. Development is also underway on land adjacent to PAVI in Qormi.
While the group acknowledged that its operations continue to face challenges arising from inflationary cost pressures, geopolitical uncertainty and heightened competition within the local market, the board said it remains prudent yet confident in its outlook.
Looking ahead, PG Group reported that turnover has continued to trend upwards, increasing by a further 10 per cent following the end of the six-month period.
