Popular Sliema bistro Giorgio’s is set to open a new outlet in Valletta’s Republic Street, on the corner with South Street.
Giorgio's has been open in Sliema since 1987, becoming a beloved staple within the local community, but it is now expanding its horizons, with an opening date set for around mid-July.
Giorgio’s owner Jean Claude Farrugia tells WhosWho.mt that the Valletta outlet will have a wider variety of takeaway options and a grab and go fridge, to cater for the several office workers in the area.
People will also be able to dine at the restaurant. While the Valletta outlet will feature a different menu, it will still include some classic favourites from the Sliema location.
Mr Farrugia says that diners can expect a more refined yet relaxed lunch menu, followed by an elevated evening offering that will retain some of the Sliema outlet’s classic favourites.
“Naturally coffee and sweets will remain the heart of our business, but we intend to expand beyond the confines of a cafe and venture more into that of a bistro too,” he added.
