Gozitan costume designer Ernest Camilleri has been nominated for the prestigious Emmy award for his design of period costumes, designed for Ripley.
As a Wardrobe Supervisor, Mr Camilleri has been nominated in the 'Outstanding Period Costumes for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie' category.
The Emmy Awards were established by the National Academy of Television, Arts and Sciences. Only members of the academy can vote for the nominees and member votes are only within their own discipline.
Speaking to the media , Mr Camilleri explained that he is extremely happy about the news of the nomination as it recognises the work done.
“We worked on this series for almost a year and a half,” he said to Times of Malta.

The black-and-white production presented the designer with some challenges. He noted that since the Director, Stephen Zaillan, wanted a clean look, designers had to eliminate all colours for costumes and use only black, white, and shades of grey.
Mr Camilleri started making costumes when he was 13 years old, with his first source of inspiration being costumes for the Gozo Carnival.
Years later he attended the Manoel Theatre Academy of Dramatic Arts (MTADA) where he formally studied drama and costume.
This had subsequently led him to design costumes for a pantomime and other theatre and dance productions.
His first opportunity to design for film started when he was approached to style an advert for Corona Beer, which included a number of pirate and British army uniforms. This eventually led him to work regularly in films and adverts.
Mr Camilleri worked in major productions like Game of Thrones, Ben Hur, and Captain Phillips.
