Flying Tiger Copenhagen has announced that it will be closing all of its doors in Malta, bringing an end to the popular retailer’s local presence.

The Denmark-based brand previously operated outlets on Bisazza Street in Sliema and at Main Street Shopping Mall in Paola, both of which have already shut down. The last remaining shop in Malta was on Santa Lucia Street, Valletta.

Known for its colourful seasonal decorations, reasonably priced toys, kitchen utensils and quirky gifts, Flying Tiger had become a favourite stop for both locals and tourists. Many shoppers were drawn to the store for its affordable prices and constantly changing themes, particularly around festive periods.

The closure marks the loss of a well-loved retail concept from Malta’s high streets.
