Providing three tips on running a strong mobility operation, in light of a successful first 90 days served as GoTo Malta’s General Manager, the recently appointed Zach Bergerson identified that “first and foremost… it’s always crucial never to lose touch with the customer perspective”.

"Make sure you use the products on offer and remain human. Engage with your target audience and know the company and the product inside out", he added.

As part of an interview with the company to welcome him into the role, Mr Bergerson was asked about his career background and what he hopes to achieve in the role.

Firstly, he explained that start-up environments have always appealed to him due to the need to “push ideas forward and remain agile”.

At GoTo specifically, he said, he is enabled to focus his experience and channel his energies into a subject he feels passionate about, mobility.

“I firmly believe we need to transform the way we move and shake up the transportation sector”, he explained.

“Shared economy solutions such as GoTo have a crucial role here, and fortunately my vision goes hand in hand with that of GoTo.”

Looking to the future, Mr Bergerson said he believes the company will continue to expand its fleet in Malta, as demand increases and as people are more conscious than ever about mobility options.

“I envisage GoTo will become a daily means of transportation for thousands of people across the island and continue to break boundaries and shift misconceptions”.

Aside from the aforementioned piece of advice, Mr Bergerson advocated for leaders to listen to employees and encourage them to listen to each other, providing a “positive working environment for [their] team to bring ideas and suggestions forward without fear, judgment or retaliation”.

Finally, he advised leaders to make the most out of data available, explaining that: “Harnessing the power of real time statistics enables us to optimize fleet operations and make data-driven decisions”.

The international mobility company, which has a strong presence locally, also took to social media to introduce him, saying: “Welcome on board, captain, we’re humbled to have you!”

He joined the company following his “extraordinary career path in operations management and entrepreneurship”, and in his role is tasked with setting the course for “GoTo’s further expansion in Malta”, GoTo said.
