Fenech & Fenech has announced the appointment of Allison Vassallo, its Partner and Head of its Yachting Department, as the Malta Legal Representative for the Mediterranean Yacht Brokers Association (MYBA).

By virtue of this appointment Dr Vassallo shall form part of the MYBA EU Legal Consortium (MEULC) composed of leading lawyers from the main yachting jurisdictions who both advise MYBA and their members on key legal issues and also act as their representative before the competent local authorities of the jurisdictions concerned.

She will bring a wealth of experience to the role, having joined Fenech and Fenech Advocates in 2006.

Since then, she has been “heavily involved” in advising and co-ordinating projects for owners and financiers relating to the acquisition and sale of both private and commercial yachts.

MYBA is the international professional Worldwide Yachting Association made up of Corporate and Individual Members having a proven track record of professional excellence and which are involved in many levels of the variety of disciplines of which the superyacht industry is composed.

MYBA is also the creator of the industry’s most respected and widely used contracts, the MYBA Sales & Purchase Agreement (MoA) and the MYBA Charter Agreement, which together with their associated documents are regularly updated as regulations and the global market change. It also owns and organises the very successful MYBA Charter Show, one of the most important events of the international yachting calendar.

Aside from her new position, Dr Vassallo is also a Council and Executive Board Member within The Malta Chamber, and the Chairperson of the Yachting Trade Section within the Chamber of Commerce, an Executive Committee Member of the Malta Maritime Law Association (MMLA) and a Member of the Chamber of Advocates.
