Farsons Group's Cisk Strong has been awarded a gold medal in the German-style Heller Doppelbock category in this year’s edition of the Women’s International Trophy.

Cisk Strong is part of the Cisk portfolio, all brewed, distributed and marketed by Simonds Farsons Cisk plc and a recipient of other international awards.

Held in Mainz, Germany, this competition’s international jury is made up entirely of women. In addition, all the tasters, sommeliers, and oenologists, among others forming part of the competition, are experts in the field.

The competition is recognised by the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Agriculture and is certified in accordance with the ISO 9001 standard.

In this year’s edition, nearly 1,000 samples of wines, beers and spirits were tasted. Each sample was blind-tasted by the international jury and marked based on sensorial analysis criteria.

Following the analysis, the competition only awards medals to no more than a third of the samples presented.

Reacting to the award, Michael Farrugia, Simonds Farsons Cisk plc’s Deputy Chief Executive (Beverage Business), noted that Cisk Strong is a key player in the company’s international strategy.

“These achievements help to boost significantly our efforts in this direction,” he continued.

Furthermore, Chief Operations Officer Eugenio Caruana stated that being recognised as one of the best in its category, for any of Farsons’ beers, “is an honour that is always appreciated.”
