With just one week to go, the Family Business Office (FBO) is preparing to host its Family. Business. Future. 2026 Kick-Off on Wednesday, 21st January 2026, bringing together family-run businesses, professional advisors, and key stakeholders for an evening focused on incentives, governance, and long-term continuity.

Under the theme “Family. Business. Future.”, the event will provide practical guidance on leveraging the Family Business Office Act and Malta Enterprise support schemes to drive growth, resilience, and multi-generational continuity. Attendees will gain insight into integrating incentives into strategic planning, strengthening governance structures, and preparing for succession, while connecting with peers and professionals.

The evening will begin at 17:15 with a welcome reception and networking. The event will be officially opened by the Head of Secretariat, Roberta Albanese Dalli, followed by opening remarks from Dr Joseph Gerada, Regulator of the Family Business Office, highlighting key milestones in Malta’s family business sector in 2025 and outlining priorities for 2026.

A panel discussion titled “Funding, Support & Strategy: What Family Businesses Need to Know” will feature representatives from the FBO, Malta Enterprise, the Malta Business Registry, corporate service providers, and a registered family business sharing real-world experience.

Attendees will hear how family businesses strengthened governance and continuity in 2025, explore real success stories using FBO and Malta Enterprise incentives, gain practical tips on avoiding common pitfalls, and learn how to plan effectively for growth and generational transition in 2026. A moderated and interactive Q&A will allow participants to ask questions and explore how incentives can be integrated into their business plans.

The evening will conclude with networking and one-to-one advisory opportunities with FBO representatives, offering practical guidance on registration, governance, succession planning, and next steps.
